Hias Refugee Shabbat

A moment for congregations, around the country to create a Shabbat experience dedicated to refugees. The parsha (Torah portion) for this shabbat is Lech Lecha, which describes the beginning of the experience of wandering in search of freedom for the Jewish people. This makes it a particularly meaningful opportunity to deepen our understanding of today’s global refugee crisis, connect with the Jewish movement for refugees, commit (or recommit) to taking action, and either celebrate your community’s achievements in working with refugees or launch new efforts.

TBI's Shabbat service on October 20th will include speakers (Patrick Young of CARACEN), special readings and songs.

Date and Time:
Saturday, October 20, 2018 - 9:30am to 12:30pm

Giving to Temple Beth Israel

Giving to Temple Beth Israel

Giving tzedakah (making donations) to Temple Beth Israel enables our community to come together to pray, celebrate, socialize, and learn. In addition, your tzedakah to Temple Beth Israel provides teachers for our children’s Jewish education, supports adult programs, assists our holy work of Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), organizes members to visit the sick and comfort mourners, and much more.
